Backed by over 30 years professional experience, Blackcurran work closely with our clients to bring their design ideas and project to life. As an Award-winning Perth-based Designer and Builder, we have a keen interest in modular and prefabricated construction techniques, to help reduce waste and to have minimal impact on sensitive sites. We design spaces that are unique, individual and strongly influenced by passive design and sustainable living.

Passive design works with the local climate to maintain a comfortable temperature in the home. Good passive design should reduce or eliminate the need for extra heating and cooling, depending on your location.

We pride ourselves on being absolutely client-focused and ensure each step of the design process is inline with the design brief and budget. When designing your project with you, we are conscious of the environmental impacts and take all steps to minimise negative impacts on our environment.

our DESIGN process

We provide the complete design and construct service, in a relaxed setting. Our design process allows us to explore the client needs and aspirations to ensure the most practical and innovative solutions are present and discussed collaboratively, resulting in exceptional design. Most importantly, all design progress is measured against the client brief.

We will meet with you to discuss your project, goals, budget and timeframe. Blackcurran continuously assess all design progress against budget constraints, local council and r-code requirements and the Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards compliance.

We work closely with consulting engineers to ensure structure and essential services are achieving maximum efficiency, whilst allowing flexibility for future expansion or the integration of future technological advances.

Blackcurran manage all architectural, engineering and energy assessment documentation for building licence submissions and/or certificate of design compliance.

Prior to any authority submission, Blackcurran consult with the assessing authority and continue to engage with them throughout the assessment and approval process.
